Upward Bound: Integrated Curriculum Design and Implementation, Summer 2025 EDCI 589-402

Upward Bound instructors will create, modify, adapt, and deliver lesson plans that will integrate multiple disciplines based on the theme "The Medieval Era".

June 18: 6 hours to plan schedules and distribute materials for preparing lesson plans. Begin lesson plans using theme based integrative approach. To discuss and plan assessment, rules, and other goals and outcomes for the program.

June 19: 6 hours to continue lesson plans using theme based, integrative approach.

June 20: 6 hours to continue lesson plans and prepare classroom curriculum.

June 23-July 25: 1/2-hour meeting with staff each day is dedicated to collaboration and communication for the events of that day. Staff design and prepare lessons and activities for students to increase knowledge and understanding of the summer theme. 3 hours of lesson delivery each day.

Students and staff take trips to appropriate places that assist students in applying what they have learned to real life situations. College campus tours and career exploration are integrated.

July 29: Staff evaluates each student’s portfolio and recommends students pass/fail summer program.
