Stem Camp (3rd grade through 6th) is taught and facilitated by MSUB Assistant Professor of Science Education, Dr. Elaine Westbrook. She will be ably assisted by a secondary science and English education major. The camp (July 22nd - July 26th; 8:30 AM-4:00 PM) will be held in the College of Education Building at MSUB and the surrounding environs. The camp will focus in the mornings on water hydraulics through a water pump project. In the afternoons the focus is on photovoltaic cells activities . On the last day of the camp the children will present their work to families and other interested parties. The activities and instruction will include opportunities for hands mathematics, reading and writing embedded in the two projects. It will be a rich educational environment that includes high energy and fun activities.
Please send the campers with a sack lunch each day and a little pocket money to get a drink or snack at the Student Union Building.
